No dia 1 de Junho de 2008, a banda interpretou "Viva la Vida" no MTV Movie Awards 2008. Foram introduzidos por Edward Norton e Liv Tyler, actores de O Incrível Hulk.

Anton Corbijn — director do vídeo de Talk — foi quem dirigiu o vídeo para "Viva la Vida". Foi filmado nas praias holandesas. A banda teve a ideia de realizar um vídeo "inovador".
